Welcome to the blog for Julie’s Music Brioso! I’m so glad you found us. I created this blog to keep folks informed about studio events and the benefits of musical education, and hopefully to inject a little more fun in all of our lives.
I have been a musician since I was a young girl. Most of my musical experiences have been church-related, and include singing, accompanying, and playing a variety of instruments, including piano, clarinet, and handbells. Since I became a mother to 2 boys, I have discovered the joy of bringing music to preschool and school-aged children. I am very pleased to partner with Leigh’s School of Dance to help parents and children share joyful musical experiences together. In addition to teaching Kindermusik classes, I teach piano lessons out of my home, serve as an accompanist for my church and local schools, and do some occasional composing and arranging.
My teaching philosophy, from the movie Mr. Holland’s Opus, is, “Music is supposed to be fun.” Young children are learning every moment of every day, so why not add the wonder of music and make their learning fun? Why not make learning to play the piano a fun experience, so students will look forward to playing every day?
